The 2020 Maybach GLS 600
For many years, there have been two names that illustrate the pinnacle of Mercedes-Benz design: AMG® and Maybach. AMG® has lead design standards for performance, creating some of the sleekest sport vehicles out there. Maybach though has always been about the comfort design, yet was really only seen as an S-Class four-door sedan. But now, Mercedes-Maybach has released the GLS 600 luxury SUV, and it’s everything you could ever want.

Of course, Maybach is more than just a trim line for the vehicle. The exterior comes with many unique changes only available on the Maybach GLS 600, compared to the Mercedes-Benz GLS 450. From the front, a spindle grille that hearkens back to classic Maybach design announces to all drivers the vehicle’s exclusivity, while available two-tone paint means that no matter the distance, this GLS stands out. Of course, all Mercedes-Benz badging (save two of the Mercedes-Benz stars) has been replaced with the proper Maybach name, with extra Maybach logos badged across the rear D-pillars.
The interior though is where the changes truly come to light: The second and third row of seats have been replaced by the addition of a either three-seat or two-seat with fixed center console available by request during design. These rear seats mean that, when purchasing this vehicle, you should probably also be looking for a driver because they are where you will want to spend all of your time. The seats are adjustable, ventilated, heated, include massagers, foldable or extendable, and you have a personal champagne fridge in back plus room for the glasses. Not to mention seven-inch tablets, climate controlled cup holders, and a bevy of other features in addition to standard GLS features.
The GLS 600 is driven by a 4.0-liter twin turbo V8, producing 550 horsepower that is also paired with an electrical system that can produce an additional 21 horsepower. Admittedly, most people purchasing this vehicle are not concerned with the performance, but rather with the comfort. And that comfort likely comes at quite a cost, but no price has been announced yet.
